Cheers to zero waste!
From inception MadTree has lived up to its name, working to celebrate and protect nature, reduce its impact on the environment, and firmly plant roots in the community. Their environmental commitment is evident throughout their policies, operations, and volunteer work; but they’ve taken their sustainability work a step further by asking their consumers to take action with them through reducing their waste stream in the Taproom; everything in the Taproom is either reusable, recyclable, or compostable.
MadTree has also worked with Hamilton County Recycling ReSource to push their waste reduction program beyond their strong recycling and composting efforts and towards zero waste. In 2018, MadTree and ReSource partnered on a waste audit to identify outlets for hard to recycle items from their brewing process. These efforts were then expanded on by an intern in 2022, who fully audited and created a waste tracking system to track and measure the impact of MadTree’s waste. Thanks to MadTree’s relentless efforts, they were able to divert over 1.7 million pounds of waste from their brewing and taproom operations in 2022 alone.
“Our Purpose is to Connect People to Nature and Each Other. We are proud 1% for the Planet members and our staff volunteers 16 hours a year in our community.”
